Biography |
BiographyDave Wilson has been a keen photographer since his late teens when he was introduced to art photography as a local camera club member in central Scotland. During school and university, he spent a great deal of time in the darkroom working on images for competitions and freelance work for local newspapers or the University of Glasgow student newspaper, "Guardian". After graduation, he entered a career in software engineering but maintained an avid interest in photography and continued making images for local and regional club competitions. With the advent of digital technology in the 1999-2000 timeframe, darkroom work began to migrate to the PC and by 2004 resolutions had improved to a point where the PC became Dave's main photographic tool after his cameras. Today, all his images are created using digital cameras and processed using Adobe Photoshop and various other digital manipulation tools. While interested in many different forms of photography, Dave's passion is for art images derived from basic exposures via digital manipulation. As you will see from the collection posted here, high saturation, deep contrast, bold shapes and dramatic tones are characteristics of Dave's work. Dave now lives with his family on the edge of the Texas Hill Country between Austin and Dripping Springs. |
